In short, Kevin Braby stands for professionalism, dedication, and compassion--all qualities that resonate deeply with those of us who serve the public every day. With his rich experience and conscientious approach to governance, I firmly believe that Kevin will serve The Colony City Council with the same level of commitment and excellence that he has shown in every endeavor. 

I want to talk to you about Kevin Braby for a minute.

Kevin and I have worked together as Board members of The Colony Economic Development Corporation for over 15 years. The goals from “Day 1” have been to increase employment opportunities, bring in a diverse selection of successful businesses, streamline business permitting, and generate additional sales and commercial property tax revenue for our City – thus relieving the tax burden on our residents. That The Colony has achieved so much in such a short amount of time is a testament to Kevin’s insight, business acumen and steady leadership. He knows what makes sense. He is always thinking about the impact of his decisions “down the road”. These are admirable traits he will bring to his role on City Council.

What many residents of The Colony may not know about Kevin is that he is, and has been, a tireless volunteer devoted to our City.

Kevin was not only a founding member of The Colony Christmas Spectacular, he was also the electrical engineer, construction crew, installation supervisor, choreographer and City liaison. While many of us were out shopping or preparing for the holidays over the years, you could generally find Kevin (and his wife, Kathy) using their personal vacation time or working late into the evening insuring TCCS was up and running in time for the annual Christmas Parade.

Beyond the Christmas Show, Kevin was instrumental in gathering popular support for the creation of Shoreline Trail, was Crew Chief during the Red Bull Soapbox Derby, a vital part of the first Pirate Days of The Colony and has volunteered at numerous (I can’t even count them all) events during the years.

Having known Kevin the past two decades, and what kind of a decent and genuine person he is, it is my honor to recommend Kevin Braby to you – as our next Place 4 City Councilperson.
